Prior
to beginning any rig move, a Pre-Job Plan Meeting is executed.
Pre-Job Planning is mandatory prior to project start-up which
includes a meeting of the oil company representative, drilling
rig manager, construction foreman and Mullen Field Supervisor.
Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
- Job Safety Analysis (JSA)
- Hazard Identification (HID)
- Near Miss Reporting
Our system to analyze each job or task is a process that identifies the hazards associated with the work and is a way of eliminating hazards. In the case where hazards cannot be eliminated then controls or corrective measures are implemented. A Standard Operating Procedure is considered to be an appropriate control document. Where a SOP does not exist or does not meet the requirements of a job, then a Job Safety Analysis (JSA) must be developed at the field level.
Planning Identification:
- Rig move routing identified
- Critical lifts are documented
- Roads that can be used are identified
- Road Use Agreements are in place with forestry,
county or Company
- Identify
and eliminate hazards
- Identify old and new lease conditions
- Extra support services or equipment required
(towing, lights, permits, scales)
Action Plan:
- Decide on how to start the rig move (which
loads first)
- Organize equipment
- Agree on amount of equipment needed(Beds,
Pickers, Tractors, Trailers, Cranes, Personnel, etc.)
- Set start time
- Identify equipment that needs to be dismantled
(derrick, sub)
Emergency Response Plan:
- Ensure emergency numbers and organizations
are communicated to team members (RCMP, Ambulance, WCB,
HSE Representative) At the discretion of the Field Supervisor
and for the safety of all employees, a rig move may be cancelled
at any time due to poor weather or lease conditions.
